Edit
When ever I travel to a new places in Indonesia, mie goreng is typical comfort food that is always a safe menu to be my dish option and keeping me satisfied even perhaps only vegetarian version available.
I like my mie goreng not too sweet, prefer a slight savoury tasty and spicy or with the bite of chilli, but again its just personal taste. And here I'm sharing my very own version mie goreng recipe, a simple Indonesian dish that most people Indonesia treasured about.
Mie Goreng
Indonesian fried Noodles

200gr fresh/dried yellow egg noodles (as my ideal portions for the serving)
* I used fresh egg noodles, blanched
3 cloves garlic, chopped
3 shallots (bawang merah), slice
1 heaping cup shredded cabbage
4-5 coysum, any prefarable greens can be use
1 stalk leek, cut across
7 medium-sized prawns, shelled, deveined and cut in half from middle part
2 tbs sweet soy sauce / kecap manis (Indonesian sweet soy sauce)
1 tsp fish sauce-(kecap ikan), optional
1 tbs light soy sauce (kecap asin)
1/2 tsp white pepper powder
3 tbs oil for stir fry
Salt to taste
Steps
Heat the oil in a wok or over high heat, Add garlic and onions--stir-fry until aromatic.
Add the prawns, Stir constantly until the prawns turn to light pink or half cook.
Add the noodle and then toss in all the vegetables
Add sweet soy sauce (kecap manis), salted soy sauce (kecap asin), fish sauce, white pepper and salt.
Stir fry until all are well combine and the noodles are completely coated with sweet soy sauce
Serve immediately
Add the prawns, Stir constantly until the prawns turn to light pink or half cook.
Add the noodle and then toss in all the vegetables
Add sweet soy sauce (kecap manis), salted soy sauce (kecap asin), fish sauce, white pepper and salt.
Stir fry until all are well combine and the noodles are completely coated with sweet soy sauce
Serve immediately
Note
I love my mie goreng would have a slight texture in a bite and so are the veggies
Present the mie goreng together with Acar ( recipe here ) and prawns crackers would resemble heaven on a plate :))
